The Unshakable Kingdom

Got introduced to this new song by Christy Nockels "A Mighty Fortress" some time ago, actually it's in her new album "Life Light Up", which I hope I'll be getting soon since I've already placed my order.

And when I first heard it, oh my goodness, it's as if God's weight of glory just fell on me and consumed me there and then... the line that goes:

"Your Kingdom is unshakable..."

My heart just sank...

and it totally woke me up from the reality that YEAH! I'm part of this unshakable kingdom, and God has made me to be a part of His big plan, He has made everyone on this earth a part of this big big huge mega humongous extraordinary great awesome amazing wonderful beyond words can describe plan that He has.

And just the other day, I was watching the opening of Hillsong Conference that happened in the 1st week of July, and in the final part of that video came this verse:

"Therefore, since we are receiving an unshakable kingdom, let us give thanks, and through this let us offer worship pleasing to God in devotion and awe. For our God is indeed a consuming fire"
Hebrews 12:28


Again, that reality sank in even more...
Just imagine, how blessed and privileged we are to be part of this... just who are we to be called to this great plan? How unworthy we are...

who are we that God is mindful of us...

But it is God who chooses us first, to savour Him... and if we think that what we are, who we are and what we have right now is it... think again! This is only a small teeny weeny piece of the puzzle...


Break me, Lord!
Shake me once again to the reality of Your great kingdom!
Wonk me out again....

This I pray, Amen!

Let God Reign

Let not the praises of men be in the way between us and the Lord
Do not settle for meeting the expectations of men
But let the peace of the Lord reign over you

Let the Holy Spirit lead you to fullness and completion

it is in giving that we receive

U know how humans have the tendency to gravitate everything towards themselves? Everything becomes about me me me... I don't care about what others feel, as long as I feel good can already, because what's most important is that I feel good.

And it's true, we all are like that! We expect people to listen to us, we expect things to work around us, we wouldn't wanna be inconvenienced, we just wanna receive, receive, receive... we don't go out of our way to help someone anymore, we don't go out of the way to serve anymore, we don't go out of the way for God.

It becomes so natural that sometimes, the conversation u have with another becomes all about u and u just forget to care for that person... because it's all about u! everything becomes about u!! How selfish we can get sometimes.

I'm no exception, because I'm not perfect.

When things start to cloud and fall apart, u realise that HEY! how come i'm feeling so empty and why am i ending up complaining so much? that's cos for the longest time, it has been all about u.

Pray to the Lord, ask Him to fill u with love in ur heart again, pour out that love God put in u to someone else. Try making the conversation u have with the next person about that person, and u will realise it is in giving that u receive...

Amen!

Desperate Cry

Blood Poured Out

A Holy Week Reflection


How can it be, that You are willing to suffer for a sinner like me?
How can it be, that You are willing to shed Your precious blood for a world (You created) that has turned their backs against You?
How can it be, that You have humbled Yourself, turned into a single cell, to be born out of the womb of a human and walked among your creation, knowing that You mission to come is to die?

Why would anyone do this, knowing that the love You give will not be reciprocated, knowing that You will be betrayed by Your very own creation?


You have forgiven time and again, saved Your creation time and again, yet they keep falling back to their old sinful ways.

You must have been so desperate to the point that the only measure to take is for Your love to be shown in the most extreme way - to be tortured, humiliated, scorned, scourged, detested, mocked at and to die like a criminal.


An unworthy, sinful, ungrateful creation.

Yet, You still poured out Your blood for us unconditionally.

On a happier note in the midst of all the bad news going on recently... Jesus came to redeem us all!!

happy happy happy! Easter is coming!!

Few things I'm looking forward to:

1. Meeting up with bbff
2. Visit my cutest God-daughter
3. Volunteers' Day
4. EASTER! And Amplify's Easter Lunch!!
(someone think of where to go this year!)

6. New com in office
7. 1 May long weekend (for once, i don't have to work! yipppeee!!)
8. September trip... highlight of the year!!! YAY!!!

Crazy work week and a bad news...

This week had been really crazy, imagine working from 9am - 10pm everyday consecutively... it's nuts!! insane! i'm not an accountant, u know?

The only comfort is that I'll be out the entire day tmr for some fun with my khakis... weee!!
And the drama starts again, Sunday & Monday... both days till 10pm.. WOW!


Got a bad news though, saw from the papers last week that one of my friend's (whom I haven't contacted for years) brother passed on...

I've been trying to find ways to contact her but in vain. Though I wouldn't be able to go down to the wake anytime this week anyway (cos i had to work late the entire week), been praying for her and family.

Soups

I loveeeeeeeeeee soup.... I can't live without it!

Ok I'm ultra random, but I just realised that I've been going back to the same "zi cha" stall at Yew Tee foodcourt for the last 3 days, ordering all their variety of soups available.

Day 1 - Salted Vege & Duck Soup

Day 3 - Ginseng Chicken Soup

OMG! i got craving for another round of soup tonight! weeeee.........

In Awe of You

it's easy to slip back onto the road with less resistance.

But when u're ready to get back on the road with resistance, how long can that last? how long?


That's why we all need constant healing and strengthening

My God is an efficient God

He answers prayers really fast... as fast as lightning!

Breath of God

Genesis 1:1-4

By the very breath of God, heaven & earth, day & night, waters & dry land, creatures on land & in the sky, all these were created. And He made everything good.

By the very breath and command of God, He gave man wisdom.


I'm amazed.

Desperate Enough

Oh did I say the most uninspiring thing for me now is to have blank faces staring back at me when I try to inspire?

10 things I did in 2008!

OMG! I was just surfing through my old entries and I found this entry I did a year ago... thought it'll be fun to review and see how much I've achieved.

10 Things I wanna do in 2008 (dated 6 January 2008), so what have I done?

1. stop shopping (cut down i mean, oh & prob have a garage sale to sell my stuff =P)

Omg! I definitely didn't cut down on shopping! haha! I feel so guilty! I had a garage sale in March, with the money I got, I went on to buy more stuff!!! hahaha... Aunty Dee! pls lah, cut down on shopping... cannot one lor!

2. stop taking cabs (take when bo bian)

Stop taking cabs? how to when Amplify Fri end so late every week and the next morning still need to go for cell group back at CSC? I think I need to move to Hougang lah...

3. stop eating expensive food (stop ordering excessively & think twice before i step into a restaurant)

Wah! I think the 1st 3 resolutions were made in consideration of saving up for Hills College funds.. but I cannot go liao! So no need to save until so "gang kor"! hahaha! tsk tsk tsk Aunty Dee!

4. Pass my driving?!??!?! IN JESUS' NAME!

YES!!! I passed my driving on 11 April 2008! AMEN AMEN!! Praise the Lord!

5. finish reading the books i bought (all 12 of them, which means 1 a month)

Wow! I cannot remember which were the 12 books I bought, but I've definitely gotten another 8 more books in 2008. I'm done with only about 3 or 4! HAHAHA!

6. read deeper into the Word

Yes I did! Attended Salvation History also... completed it in Nov, going for my next one tmr for another 8 weeks (Letter to the Romans). Definitely read the Word a lot more... wee!!!

7. take 2 days leave & spend "God & Me" time at the beach

I didn't manage to take 2 days leave in a row, but I did go to the beach and spend an entire day there, lying on the sand and praying...

8. pick up Guitar AGAIN (the first song i wanna play: None But Jesus)

Wah! this one until now also I haven't gotten down to doing it, this will be one of the target I didn't manage to achieve...

I think Heehore & Gigi must be shaking their heads, going "tsk tsk tsk"!

wait wait! I get my $ first, then I'll go get a guitar...

9. build, journey with & start cell within Hospi Team

This one is I most proud of one... I DID IT! weeee.....!!!

iii) Growth of the team (in numbers & spiritually) - Checked

10. see the final product of Eden Cafe

Definitely Yes!! Eden has changed so much! but more can be done... but must Winston do it then I can see it... haha!
